The 27th-ranked Notre Dame men’s tennis team won the doubles point and then won three of four completed singles matches to beat host Kentucky 4-1 on Saturday at Kentucky’s Hilary J. Boone Tennis Complex. The Irish used wins at Nos. 2-4 singles to improve to 6-2 on the season.

Notre Dame won the doubles point with a pair of victories at Nos. 1 and 2 doubles. Freshman Luis Haddock-Morales and junior Casey Smith defeated Edo Bawono and Reven Stephens 8-6 at No. 1 doubles, while senior Matt Daly and junior James Malhame were 8-6 winners at No. 2 doubles.

The Wildcats won at No. 1 singles for their only point. Junior Javier Taborga defeated Gustav Pousette 6-3, 7-6 (7-5), and Haddock-Morales rallied for a 6-7 (9-7), 7-5, 6-4 win over Matt Emery at No. 3 singles. Junior Aaron Talarico cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 win over Stephens at No. 4 singles.
