Offense Sputters In Loss At Miami

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Notre Dame struggled to find a rhythm on the offensive end of the floor on Wednesday evening, falling to Miami by a final score of 62-47.

Two Irish players finished in double figures in scoring, as D.J. Harvey led the team with 14 points. John Mooney added 11 points in the loss to the Hurricanes.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Irish got off to a great start on the road on Wednesday evening, jumping out to a 13-4 lead in the early stages of the contest. Despite the strong start the offense went cold for the remainder of the first frame, as Miami took a 28-23 lead into the halftime break.

The hosts scored the first six points of the second half to go on top 34-23 and never looked back, as the Irish were never able to string together a run. The Hurricanes went on to win by a final score of 62-47.

NOTRE DAME PLAYER OF THE GAME
Harvey scored a team-high 14 points on 4-of-8 shooting. The sophomore also got to the free-throw line four times and knocked down all four attempts.

NOTES OF THE GAME

  • For the 26th time in his career and 18th time this season, Mooney finished in double figures with 11 points.
  • Harvey turned in his 13th double-digit scoring performance of the season, finishing with 14 points against the Hurricanes.
  • Nikola Djogo grabbed a season-high seven rebounds on the evening.
