GAINSVILLE, Fla. – The University of Notre Dame men’s golf team completed their first competition of 2026 at the Gators Invitational with a sixth-place team finish and a score of 854(+14). Jacob Moldeski spotlighted the weekend for the Irish, finishing one stroke over par for a team-low score. With eight birdies on the weekend, the junior tied for a 17th ranked individual finish.
Through three rounds, Modleski wrapped up the weekend trip with a score of 211(+1). Opening the tournament with a first round scorecard of 71(+1) the junior ended the day with a second round total of 67(-3), including a pair of birdies on both the front and back nine. Finishing the final round with a score of 73(+3), Modleski tied for a team best 17th place.
Liam Pasternak took second for the Irish on the weekend, finishing tied for 30th overall behind six birdies across the weekend. The freshman posted a pair of rounds just over par on Saturday before posting a 71(+1) on Sunday. The 214(+4) was his lowest posting in his young career with Notre Dame.
Calen Sanderson finished with a plus-5 score of 215 through his three rounds played over the weekend. After posting a score of 71(+1) in the opening round, the senior finished the second match of the day with a score of 72(+2). On Sunday, Sanderson registered birdie on the eighth hole, a par three, on his way to a score of 72(+2) in the final round of play.
Junior Rocco Salvitti finished with a score of 217(+7) to claim 48th in the Gator Invitational, opening with a first round score of 77(+7). The junior would bounce back in his second round on Saturday, recording seven birdies on his way to a score of 66(-4). His final round saw another birdie on the 11th and 13th holes to finish the day with a score of 74(+4).
Nate Stevens rounded out the Irish field on the weekend with a total score of 223(+13) through all 54 holes. Tallying his best round on Sunday, Stevens was one over par with a score of 71 to end the tournament.
Notre Dame returns to the links as they are slated to compete at the fourth annual The Johnnie-O at Sea Island tournament on March 8-9 in St. Simons Island, Georgia.
