On The Tee
— The expected starting lineup for the Irish includes junior Matthew Rushton (1), freshman Miguel Delgado (2), freshman Ben Albin (3), junior Blake Barens (4) and senior Cory Sciupider (5).

— Rushton, who is coming off his first career win at the season-opening Kickoff Challenge at the Warren Golf Course (Aug. 30), returns to the Rod Myers Invitational after finishing second at the event last season. Rushton carded rounds of 68-71 in 2014, tying for runner-up honors at 139 (-5) in the rain-shortened event.

— Head Coach Jim Kubinski scouts the course:

“The Duke Golf Club is a very good test but can yield scores, depending upon the conditions. The key any week is to make putts but the course also requires a good iron game. It’s a fine line there: just a few feet can mean a good look at birdie versus chasing par. There is room on the proper side, for the most part though. It’s the short siding that penalizes.”

— The event will mark the sixth annual Rod Myers Invitational. Duke has hosted a men’s golf tournament for the past 42 years. In 2010 the name was changed as a tribute to longtime head coach Rod Myers, who passed away in 2007 after a battle with an acute form of leukemia.

— After playing in the 2015 Rod Myers Invitational, Notre Dame returns home to play host to the 2015 Fighting Irish Golf Classic on Monday, Sept. 21 and Tuesday, Sept. 22 at the Warren Golf Course.
