NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame men’s golf team will host the 13th Annual Fighting Irish Classic, taking place Oct. 7-8, at the Warren Golf Course, which is located just northeast of campus along Douglas Road. This year’s tournament features a strong 15-team field.
Sunday will feature two rounds of play, beginning with a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m. ET. Monday’s final round will have a traditional start on holes one and 10, beginning at 8:30 a.m. The Warren plays as a 7,020-yard par-71.

THE FIELD
The competitive 15-team field features Georgia Southern, Illinois, Iowa, Iowa State, Miami (Ohio), Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, North Carolina, NIU, South Alabama, SIU, Toledo and Wisconsin.
HISTORY
Notre Dame has won the Fighting Irish Classic three times in the 12-year history of the tournament, same as fellow competitor Michigan State. Last year, the Irish set a new tournament record by finishing 18-under par, shattering the previous record by 13 strokes.
Davis Chatfield, in his freshman year in 2017, produced a strong showing with a 205 (-3), resulting in a third-place finish.
THE IRISH FIVE
Representing the Blue & Gold at home this weekend will be Davis Chatfield, Andrew O’Leary, Kevin Conners, Miguel Delgado and Hunter Ostrom. Meanwhile, all five other golfers on the team will compete as individuals.
IN THE CLUBHOUSE
After three fall tournaments, Chatfield leaves the clubhouse with the lowest stroke average at 71.89, in addition to one top-five finish. Freshman Andrew O’Leary follows suit with a 72.11 and fresh off a 12th place showing at the OTC Collegiate.
