SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) – Freshman Troy Murphy’s 18 points led Notre Dame to a 79-55 win over Stetson Monday night.
The Irish (6-5) used superior passing skills to consistently get the ball inside and took advantage of 18 Stetson turnovers. Notre Dame never trailed in the game and held a 42-24 halftime edge.
Stetson closed to within 15 midway through the second half, but four straight free throws by senior Antoni Wyche sparked an Irish run.
Martin Inglesby scored 12 and added eight assists for Notre Dame. Wyche added 13 points.
The Hatters (3-6) were led by sophomore forward Sebastian Singletary who scored 17 points.
