Notre Dame and Lake Superior State will face off in Game 2 of the CCHA Quarterfinals at 7:05 p.m. at the Joyce Center on Saturday night. The Irish have a one game to none advantage in the series as they won Friday’s game, 3-2, in dramatic overtime fashion. Jeff Costello picked up the game winner at 4:52 of overtime when his shot from the left circle beat Lakers’ goaltender Kevin Kapalka to the upper corner. The win makes Notre Dame 7-1-2 since Jan. 22 and for the season, the Irish are now 22-10-5. Lake Superior advanced to the second round by sweeping Ohio State (4-0, 3-2) last weekend and is now 12-16-9 for the season. Friday’s game was just the second meeting for Notre Dame against the Lakers in the post season. The Irish are now 2-0 in those games. Game three, if necessary, will be played at 7:05 p.m. on Sunday, March 13 at the Joyce Center.
