NOTRE DAME, Ind. — The University of Notre Dame baseball team will try to return to the win column in a midweek matchup at Michigan State on Tuesday afternoon, followed by a visit from Northwestern at Frank Eck Stadium on Wednesday.
The Irish will turn to starter Zack Martin to continue the pitching staff’s success of late. Martin has made two starts this season and owns a 1.86 ERA (2 ER/9.2 IP) with 11 strikeouts in those outings.

The Irish trail the all-time series versus Michigan State, owning a 56-79 mark overall and a 22-38 record on the road. The last time the schools played, Notre Dame won, 2-1, on April 11, 2017, at Frank Eck Stadium. Notre Dame has taken three of the last four from Michigan State.
Notre Dame is in control of a 72-59 overall record against Northwestern, including a 45-27 mark at home. The Irish have won three straight and are 6-4 over the last 10 matchups.

- The Irish own a 4-8 record on the road this season.
- Notre Dame’s bullpen has allowed just two runs over its last 15.0 innings (1.20 ERA).
- Jake Johnson is batting .563 (9-16) with two runs scored and four RBI in his last four games. Four of his last eight games have been multihit performances.
