Notre Dame Game NotesNOTRE DAME, Ind. — No. 14 Notre Dame travels north for a midweek matchup against Marquette at 7 p.m. ET on Wednesday, April 11. The game will be played at Valley Fields in Milwaukee. The game will be broadcast live on FS1 and can be streamed on the FOX Sports GO app.

The Marquette Series

Wednesday will be the seventh meeting between Notre Dame and Marquette. The Irish have not lost in the matchup, as Notre Dame has a perfect 6-0 record in the series.

Notre Dame went 2-0 against Marquette during the 2017 campaign, winning 11-10 in the regular season and 15-9 in the first round of the NCAA Championship. Both games were played at Arlotta Stadium.

In Notre Dame’s 15-9 victory, the Irish jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. Brendan Gleason scored five goals and Brendan Collins added four to lead Notre Dame to the win.

The Irish have squared off against the Golden Eagles in each of the last five seasons.

Wednesday marks the second time the Irish will play at Marquette.
Stifling Defense

The Irish have allowed an average of 9.00 goals per game to rank 18th in the country, despite facing some of the most potent attacks at the DI level.

Notre Dame has held six of its nine opponents to fewer than 10 goals.

The Irish defense held both then-No. 7 Virginia and then-No. 5 Duke to their season lows for goals scored in a game.

Duke (No. 5), Virginia (No. 6) and Denver (No. 11) all rank in the top 20 in goals scored per game this season and the Irish held each to under 10 goals.
The Irish X-Man

Senior John Travisano, Jr., has had a great year at the X through eight games in the 2018 campaign. The senior has won 94-of-160 face-offs this season to rank 15th in the country in face-off percentage with a mark of .587.

Travisano has won the face-off battle in seven of nine games this season, including five straight outings.

The face-off man had the best game of his career at the X against Ohio State (3/25), winning 17-of-19 face-offs in a dominating performance.

The 17 face-off wins are a career high for Travisano and the most since Liam O’Connor won 21 against Albany on May 17, 2014.
Midseason All-America Honors

Inside Lacrosse unveiled its 2018 Midseason All-America list and Notre Dame had four athletes recognized as either the first, second, third team or honorable mention.

Senior LSM John Sexton earned first team recognition, while sophomore midfielder Bryan Costabile (second team), junior SSDM Drew Schantz (third team) and junior attackman Brendan Gleason (honorable mention) each earned accolades.
Moving Up In The Ranks

Senior attackman Mikey Wynne ranks tied for fourth in program history in career goals with 119. (Full rankings in sidebar on page 4)

Wynne moved into a tie for fourth with former standout Joe Franklin in the win over Ohio State (3/25).

Wynne is just the eighth player in program history to surpass the 100-goal mark, as he scored three times against Army in the final regular-season game of the 2017 season on May 6 to reach the milestone.
