The University of Notre Dame women’s tennis team opens the 2018 ACC Championships on Wednesday, April 25, when the Irish take on Wake Forest in an opening round match. The contest is set for 11:30 a.m. at the Cary Tennis Park in Cary, North Carolina.
The winner will advance to a second-round showdown with Virginia on Thursday, with North Carolina waiting for that winner in Friday’s quarterfinals.

On The Fighting Irish
Notre Dame enters the ACC Championships coming off defeats to No. 18 Florida State and No. 17 Miami during the last weekend of the regular season. Ally Bojczuk enters the postseason as the team’s hottest player, having won three-straight singles matches to run her spring singles record to 15-6. Zoe Spence is tied with Bojczuk for the most singles wins this spring, owning a 15-8 record.

Wake Forest also dropped both matches on the final weekend of the regular season, falling to Boston College and Virginia. Emma Davis anchors the lineup with an ITA singles ranking of 25th nationally thanks to seven wins over ranked opponents. Davis and Chandler Carter combine for form the nation’s 16th-ranked doubles pairing.
The Irish and Deacs met on March 25 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, with Wake taking a 6-1 victory. Notre Dame leads the all-time series, 14-11. The schools are meeting at the ACC Championships for the first time.
