Updated Meet Schedule

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Notre Dame track and field team heads back down to the sunshine state in search of its 27th straight appearance at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The Irish have 16 student-athletes entered to compete at the NCAA East Regional for the first two rounds of postseason competition from May 24-26 in Tampa.
Notre Dame’s 16 student-athletes competing at the regional meet are entered in a combined 13 events. In total, the Irish have 19 entries in the meet.
The Irish women’s squad will try to extend its streak to 25 consecutive appearances at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The men will look to qualify for the second straight year and the 22nd time in the past 23 years.

A number of Irish athletes bring top regional marks into the weekend after strong performances at the ACC Championships.
Nate Richartz shattered a number of records en route to his second straight ACC pole vault championship. After tying the school record he set earlier this season, Richartz cleared 5.70m (18-08.25) on his first attempt to win the event and broke not only the school record but the championship and ACC record as well. His winning vault currently ranks third heading into the weekend.
Jessica Harris will be running in the 1500m Thursday afternoon after earning the silver medal at ACC’s. She ran a season-best 4:14.27 in the final to finish second and earn first team All-ACC honors. Her time is sixth-best coming into the regional.
On the men’s side, Jacob Dumford and Yared Nuguse both hold top-10 times in the 1500m. Nuguse earned bronze at ACC’s and his time from the prelims (3:42.44) ranks eighth. Dumford set a personal record at the Stanford Invitational (3:42.04) and ranks sixth overall.
In just her second race of the season, Anna Rohrer came away with the silver medal in the 10000m at ACC’s (33:03.30). She cut off over 20 seconds from her winning time at the Penn Relays and her time is fourth overall. Fellow junior Annie Heffernan also ranks high in the 10000m. Her third-place time from the Penn Relays (33:48.25) is 12th-best heading into the weekend.
Notes
- The Irish women’s squad has made 24 straight appearances in the NCAA Outdoor Championships (1994-2017), while the men’s squad has qualified in 22 of the last 23 seasons (1995-2015).
- Notre Dame has had more than one student-athlete qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Championships 41 times (18 seasons with two or more women; 37 seasons with two or more men).
- Nate Richartz, who owns the school record in the pole vault (5.70m) will look to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Championships for the third time in his career. Richartz did not compete during the 2016 outdoor season.
- Jordan Shead will also look to qualify for NCAA’s for the third time in her career. She competed in Eugene in 2015 and 2016 on the women’s 4x400m relay team.
- Jessica Harris and Anna Rohrer look to qualify for nationals for the second straight season. The pair earned second team All-American honors last season, Harris in the 1500m and Rohrer in the 10000m.
