No. 21 Irish Get 22 From Gaither to Beat Villanova by 23
PHILADELPHIA — Katryna Gaither knocked down 10-of-13 from thefloor as 21st-ranked Notre Dame rolled past Villanova, 77-54. The Irishjumped out to a 20-point lead at the half and cruised the rest of theway in the Big East matchup.
Jenn Beisel led the Wildcats with 15 points and five rebounds asVillanova fell to 7-6, 3-3 in conference play. The Wildcats shot just 35percent on the day.
Meanwhile, the Fighting Irish (13-4, 5-0) nailed nearly 58 percent of their fieldgoals as four starters scored in double figures. Guard Mollie Peirickwas 3-of-4 from 3-point range.
