AUSTIN, Texas — Yared Nuguse started things off for the Irish in high fashion Wednesday evening as he advanced to the men’s 1,500m finals.
Crossing the line second in his heat, he qualified for a spot in the finals with a time of 3:44.33. He came just 0.08 seconds shy of the top semifinal finisher, and nation’s leader, Oliver Hoare of Wisconsin.
He will compete again Friday night at 7:41 p.m. CT, live on ESPN.
