Nagle, Keyes and Simeone Round Out Women’s Basketball Radio Crew

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Notre Dame women’s hoops program announced its radio broadcast crew for the upcoming 2019-20 season. Joining Bob Nagle this year will be 1991 alumnae Karen (Robinson) Keyes and Fighting Irish Media’s Tony Simeone.

Keyes will be the color analyst alongside the play-by-play host for a majority of this year’s contests. Meanwhile, Simeone will be on the mic for all road games.

The voice of the women’s program, Bob Nagle, will remain the main play-by-play for all home contests, along with co-hosting the Muffet McGraw Radio Show. Nagle is currently rehabbing a foot injury and will spend time off the road returning to full health.

“I’m looking forward to having Karen back on the team and adding her expertise, and Tony is just a terrific, hard-working guy,” Nagle stated. “I’m very appreciative of the staff to give me the opportunity to return to full health and still be active with the program.”

Keyes graduated as the program’s all-time leading scorer with 1,590 career points and still ranks among the program’s top-12 all-time scorers. Keyes was the program’s first WBCA All-District selection, a two-time Midwestern Collegiate Conference Player of the Year and a member of the first Notre Dame squad to earn a top-25 ranking.

Keyes began her work as a broadcast reporter in 2003 and has compiled an impressive resume, which includes stints with the WNBA, New York Liberty, ESPN Radio and the New York Jets. With the Jets, Keyes co-hosted the pre-and post-game shows along with handling on-field celebrity interviews.

“I am thrilled to join the Notre Dame women’s basketball broadcast team,” Keyes stated. “Basketball has always been a passion in my life and I am very grateful that Coach McGraw provided me with this incredible opportunity to represent Notre Dame.”

Simeone is a broadcaster and producer with Fighting Irish Media. He currently serves as the lead play-by-play broadcaster for college hockey on NBCSN and will be the sideline reporter for Notre Dame football’s second-screen show on NBCSN in late November. Irish women’s basketball fans will also recognize Simeone from ACC Network Extra broadcasts last season.

“It’s an honor to be asked to fill in for Bob (Nagle) on road trips this year,” Simeone said. “He has voiced some of the most iconic moments in Notre Dame history and I hope to live up the standard that he has set. Coach McGraw has built a championship culture that has spanned over four decades and I’m looking forward to working within that program.”
