WATERSOUND, Fla. – It was a long time coming for the University of Notre Dame men’s golf team, waiting 10 months between spring competition dates due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, the Irish returned to the links on Sunday, kicking off the spring season at the Camp Creek Seminole Invitational.
The Irish landed in sixth place after the opening round, shooting a 291 (+3), with only nine strokes sitting between Notre Dame and second place.
The Irish were led by Taichi Kho, who fired off an opening-round 70 (-2). Kho displayed quite the consistency until a double-bogey on nine disrupted the round.
Both competing freshmen, Tucker Clark and Angel Marcon, made the most of their debut time by climbing to 33rd place with a 74 (+2). Also to note, Andrew O’Leary fired off a 72 (E), good for 18th place.
