GREENSBORO, N.C. – On Thursday, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced its 2020-21 All-ACC Academic Team for men’s golf, as Notre Dame claimed a program-best four selections. Freshman Tucker Clark, sophomore Palmer Jackson and junior Taichi Kho are all first-time members, while junior Andrew O’Leary makes it for the second time.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career for undergraduate students. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
Clark, a Marketing major, led the Irish in two tournaments this spring. The Arizona native averaged 72.52 strokes per round and produced one top-10 finish. Clark posted the lowest tournament score of any Irish golfer this year with a 205 (-11).
Jackson, a Business Analytics major, was a 2021 Ping DI All-Region Team selection after averaging 71.67 strokes/round. Jackson finished in 12th place at the NCAA Stillwater Regional and also recorded his third career top-five showing earlier in the spring.
Kho, a Marketing major, was also a 2021 Ping DI All-Region Team honoree. Kho averaged 72.14 strokes per round, which marked a career best. The Hong Kong native finished in the top-25 at both ACC Championships (22nd, +3) and the NCAA Stillwater Regional (21st, +4).
O’Leary, a Marketing major as well, averaged 73.33 strokes/round this spring. O’Leary produced three top-25 showing, including a career-best fourth-place finish at the Spartan Collegiate.
All-in-all, all four golfers were in the starting five lineup all year, which helped Notre Dame make the NCAA regional round for the first time since 2012.
