The University of Notre Dame men’s golf team placed second in the 2021 Fighting Irish Classic held at Warren Golf Course on Monday, October 4, and Tuesday, October 5. The Irish shot a collective 828 (-12), three shots behind first place Washington (825, -15).
Notre Dame’s individual efforts ended up grouped together to finish tied for eighth and 13th place in the final standings. Junior Patrick Kelly and graduate student Davis Chatfield both finished tied for eighth at -4, with Kelly shooting 66s in the first and third round. Junior Palmer Jackson was right behind them in 13th place at 207 (-3).
Sophomore Angelo Marco, who competed as an individual during the event, shot an even par 210 to finish in a tie for 15th.
The Irish will be back in action at the Stephens Cup October 18-20 in Roland, Arkansas.
