NOTRE DAME, Ind. — Notre Dame women’s basketball freshman guard Sonia Citron is now 2-for-2 in collecting ACC Rookie of the Week honors. Citron helped the Irish to a 2-0 week with wins over Fordham and Bryant, averaging 12.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists. She ultimately tallied a pair of double-digit scoring performances, including her first collegiate start for the Irish this past Sunday.
Citron’s week started with a double-double against Fordham, totaling 12 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and one steal. She then followed that up with a 13-point performance on 6-of-13 shooting against Bryant. Citron ultimately shot 52.6 percent on the week.
Citron and the rest of the Irish now fly south to Florida to compete in the Daytona Beach Invitational. They’ll play on back-to-back days starting Friday, Nov. 26, against (RV) Georgia, followed by No. 16 Oregon State on Saturday.
