GREENSBORO, N.C. – As announced by the conference on Wednesday, Marcello Olivares and Amanda Pirkowski were named men’s and women’s ACC Fencer of the Week after their performances at the Northwestern Duals.
Olivares went 17-1 on the weekend in four matches. The men’s team went undefeated the entire weekend against six opponents.
Pirkowski went 15-2 through the weekend, and had four perfect 3-0 bout wins against Boston College, Stanford, UC San Diego, and Incarnate Word.
