GREENSBORO, N.C. – As announced by the ACC on Tuesday afternoon and the USTFCCCA, Yared Nuguse was named ACC Indoor Track and Field Performer of the Week and the National Athlete of the Week by the USTFCCCA.
Nuguse ran in the 3000 meter race where he broke an 18-year-old collegiate record. He ran for a time of 7:38.13. The previous record of 7:38.59 was held by Arkansas’ Alistair Cragg, and had stood since 2004.
This is now the second NCAA record that Nuguse holds. He holds records in the 1500m all-time standard and now the 3000m.
