LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Notre Dame women’s tennis team earned a 5-2 victory over Louisville Sunday afternoon. The Irish took the doubles point and continued to control the courts taking four of the six in singles. Notre Dame improves to 8-5 on the season and 1-2 in Atlantic Coast Conference play.
The Irish took the doubles point as Page Freeman and Maria Olivia Castedo combined for a 6-4 win at No. 1. Carrie Beckman and Nibedita Ghosh added a 6-2 win at No. 3 and the Irish were on the board.
Notre Dame went on to win flights one and two in straight-sets as Freeman and Julia Andreach earned points. Beckman and Castedo added two more at No. 4 and No. 5 as the Irish secured the victory.
