KNOXVILLE, TN. – Notre Dame traveled to the Tennessee Relays where they collected 10 top-10 finishes.
Shae Douglas recorded a time of 12.91 in the finals for the 100m dash taking home 14th place. Douglas also ran in the 200m dash where she crossed the finish line at 25.33. Teammate Eve Balseiro took eighth place in the 400m dash. In the 400m hurdles Caroline Isemann took eleventh with a time of 1:03.77.
In the high jump, Madison Schmidt hit a final mark of 1.60m. She took home sixth place in the event. Kendall Burgess jumped for a mark of 5.50m in the women’s long jump taking 15th place. In the shot put, Alesis Juntunen collected fifth place with a throw of 13.53m. Teammate Ava Burrterbaugh also threw in the shot put for a mark of 12.09m.
Rachel Tanczos took home fourth place in the discus throw with a toss of 48.32m. She also threw in the hammer throw earning fifth place with a throw of 60.12m. Emma Albano also threw in the discus throw and hammer throw. She hit a mark of 36.57m in the discus and 50.29m in the hammer. Ava Butterbaugh who threw for a mark of 35.34m in the discus. Gabrielle Diederich took home second place in the javelin throw with a toss of 45.58m. Teammate Siobhan Loughney also threw in the javelin for a mark of 29.53m.
Alaina Brady took home second place in the women’s heptathlon with 5573 points. Brady collected third place in the 800m run (2:20.50), first in the 100m hurdles (13.89), third in the high jump (1.65m) and long jump (5.77m), and first in shot put (12.28m). Her strong efforts landed her third on the Notre Dame all time list and gives her eighth place in the country.
Paul Baynes ran in the men’s 100m dash for a time of 10.78. Baynes also ran in the 200m dash crossing the finish line at 22.35. Luis Cossio took eighth place in the 400m dash with a time of 50.39. Theo Phillips ran in the 110m hurdles taking a time of 15.12.
In the men’s shot put William Loewen threw for a mark of 15.02m. Henry Boudreau threw in the discus throw and hit 43.25m. In the hammer throw, Blake Kusky threw for 58.02m, Michael Shoaf threw for 54.21m, and John Stefan threw for 49.88m. In the javelin throw, John Keenan took third place with a throw of 64.16m and teammate Austin Parsons took fourth at 64.01m.
In the Power Hour Invitational events, Tanczos threw shot put hitting a mark of 14.12m. On the men’s side, Stefan and Shoaf threw in the shot put hitting 17.45m and 17.27m, respectively.
