BLOOMINGTON, IN. – On the final day of the 2022 NCAA Track and Field East Regional one Fighting Irish runner qualified for the national championship.

The 3000 meter steeplechase had Olivia Markezich finish second overall and earn herself an automatic qualifier. The ACC Champion ran for a personal best and crossed the finish line at 9:41.76.  Teammates Madeleine King and Sophie Novak were also competing in the steeplechase. King finished in 10:29.24 and Novak ran for a time of 10:35.47.

Rachel Tanczos competed in the discus throw and finished with a mark of 48.48m. In the 5000 meter run, Meghan Scott ran for a time of 16:32.25 and Jacqueline Gaughan finished with a time of 16:49.98. Madison Schmidt represented the Irish in the high jump with a mark of 1.76m.

The next outing for the Irish will be at the 2022 NCAA Track and Field National Championship meet held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon on June 8 through June 11.
