The University of Notre Dame rowing team took part in the Dale England Cup in Bloomington, Indiana, on Saturday, April 26, for its final tune up for the 2025 ACC Championships (May 16-17).
The Irish competed seven boats on the day with just over 50 Fighting Irish student-athletes competing for the Dale England Cup. The scoring system was 18 points for the Varsity Eight winner (nine points for second), 12 points for the 2V8 winner (six for second) and six points for the Varsity Four winner (three points for second). If there is a tie, the higher placing crew in the Varsity Eight serves as the tiebreaker.
Indiana won the Cup competition after placing first in the 1V8, 2V8 and 1V4. Notre Dame placed third in the 1V8, second in the 2V8 and second in the 1V4 to earn nine points.
The 3V8, 2V4 and 3V4 all posted victories for the Irish on Saturday but those races do not factor into the point system for the Cup standings.
