WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Notre Dame track and field team opened up the 2025 ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday on the campus of Wake Forest University.
Jadin O’Brien leads the field through day one of heptathlon competition. The graduate student took first place in all four events contested. The Irish went 1-2-3 in the 100m hurdles with Alaina Brady claiming second and Ellis Weekley taking third.
The Irish distance runners posted some big performances on the opening day of competition. Emily Covert claimed second in the 10,000m race with a time of 33:30.18. Erin Strzelecki placed fourth in a time of 33:41.47. Arianne Olson was sixth with a 33:58.43, and Amaya Aramini took seventh in a time of 34:25.81. Covert and Strzelecki both earned All-ACC First Team honors by virtue of their finish while Olson is a Second Team honoree.
On the men’s side, Ethan Coleman took third with a 28:59.86 in the 10,000m race to also earn All-ACC First Team honors.
The men are in ninth place after day one while the women hold third place. Day two of competition is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
