CHARLOTTE, N.C. — After a stellar performance at the Miami Invite last weekend, Notre Dame’s Shane Eckler was named ACC Men’s Swimmer of the Week on Tuesday.

The sophomore from outside of Philadelphia posted seven event wins in as many tries, including three individual performances in the 50, 100 and 200 free. Eckler won the 50 free with a time of 19.43 (19.38 in prelims), the 100 free with a time of 42.39 and the 200 free with a time of 1:33.01. He also led off the winning 200 free relay with a time of 19.21. In doing so, Eckler qualified for the 2026 NCAA Championships in all three events.

Eckler’s performances were also ones for the Notre Dame record book, as he moved up the top 10 list in each of his three events — third in the 50 and 100 free and second in the 200 free. He trails only United States Olympian Chris Guiliano in the 200.

Eckler and Co. will take a break from competition during the upcoming holiday season before facing off against Tampa and Minnesota at Tampa on Jan. 3.
