SOUTH BEND, Ind. — The 2026-27 Notre Dame women's basketball schedule is here, and there are numerous marquee matchups, including non-conference dates with UConn and Vanderbilt, and an ACC schedule with 10 games against nine opponents that made the 2026 NCAA Tournament, a conference record.
After an Oct. 26 exhibition against Truman State, Notre Dame will travel to Rome for the Eternal City Tip-Off against Villanova. The first-of-its-kind double-header will feature both Irish basketball teams, and the women's game will air on FS1 at noon ET following the men's contest.
Once back on American soil, Notre Dame will host first-time opponent Stonehill (Nov. 6) and former Midwest Collegiate Conference foe Detroit Mercy (Nov. 10). Another game will be announced for Nov. 14, and then the Irish will host first-time opponent Southern on Nov. 18 before for a Thanksgiving trip to Paradise Island, Bahamas.
At the fifth annual Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament, Notre Dame will play Davidson (Nov. 24) and West Virginia (Nov. 26). The Mountaineers have made four consecutive NCAA Tournaments and won the 2026 Big 12 Tournament.
Up next, Notre Dame has a 2026 NCAA Tournament rematch, as the team heads to Nashville to play Vanderbilt as part of the 2026 SEC/ACC Challenge. Notre Dame won the contest against the Commodores in March, 67-64, to earn the program's first Elite Eight berth under Karen and Kevin Keyes Family Head Women's Basketball Coach Niele Ivey.
Notre Dame plays its first ACC game in early December, hosting Florida State on Dec. 6. The Irish also opened last year's ACC slate against the Seminoles, winning in Tallahassee, 93-58. Notre Dame enters 2026-27 ACC play without any losing records to conference foes, including relative newcomers Cal, SMU and Stanford.
A pair of home games follow, as Notre Dame hosts rival UConn on Dec. 9 and welcomes Bowling Green to Purcell Pavilion on Dec. 13. The Irish have won three of their last five games against the Huskies.
After fall semester exams, Notre Dame will play in the 2026 Players Era Showcase in Las Vegas against Southern Cal (Dec. 19) and South Carolina (Dec. 20). It will be the third consecutive season that the Irish face the Trojans, and the matchup will pit two of women's basketball top players — Hannah Hidalgo and JuJu Watkins — against each other for the second time in their careers.
Following the Christmas holiday, Notre Dame will close out 2026 with a contest at Pitt on Dec. 28 and against Cal on Dec. 31.
The first two games of 2027 will be at Miami (Jan. 3) and at Virginia Tech (Jan. 7) before Duke (Jan. 10) and Georgia Tech (Jan. 14) return to South Bend. Three consecutive road games follow with Syracuse (Jan. 17) and Louisville (Jan. 21) before a bye week and a contest at North Carolina (Jan. 28).
Notre Dame will close out January at home against Stanford (Jan. 31) and open February with SMU at home as well (Feb. 4). The Irish are a perfect 4-0 against the Cardinal and Mustangs since they joined the ACC in 2024-25.
A date at Clemson (Feb. 7) separates the Irish from another pair of home games, this time against Virginia (Feb. 11) and Wake Forest (Feb. 14). To date, Notre Dame has not lost to Wake Forest; the Irish are a perfect 14-0 against the Demon Deacons.
A final road swing for the regular season starts in Raleigh at NC State (Feb. 18) and ends in Chestnut Hill with Boston College (Feb. 21). The Irish have beaten Boston College seven consecutive times.
Notre Dame will close out the regular season against its only two-time opponent of the ACC schedule, Louisville (Feb. 28). The Irish ended the regular season last year in opponent territory, downing No. 10 Louisville, 65-62.
