CHARLOTTE – The Atlantic Coast Conference handed out another weekly league honor to the Notre Dame men’s tennis program. On Tuesday, March 3, the ACC named Nicholas Patrick it’s Freshman of the Week.
The Fighting Irish went 3-0 last weekend, which included 4-o sweeps over Florida State and Miami. Patrick played a key part in those wins, going 3-0 in doubles and 1-0 in singles.
Up first, Patrick and Noah Becker defeated Florida State’s Ezerzer/Hornung, 7-6(5). That victory sealed the doubles point in the match. Next, Becker/Patrick dominated Miami’s Serra Sanchez/Alhogbani, 6-0. The duo then capped their perfect doubles weekend with a 6-2 victory over IU Indy’s Mercer/Sukkho.
With all that said, Patrick is now 9-1 in doubles dual matches this season.
Lastly, Patrick’s lone singles match and victory was a 6-1, 6-3 win over IU Indy’s Brandon Pham.
