As if Notre Dame versus Louisville didn’t already have enough juice.

On Sunday, the 17th-ranked Irish (22-6, 12-5) will welcome No. 22 Louisville (23-7, 12-5) to Purcell Pavilion for a rematch of a Feb. 16 game, one which the Cardinals won at their place. On top of the usual bragging rights that come with one of the ACC’s best rivalries, the winner of Sunday’s game will earn the No. 4 seed in the 2024 ACC Tournament and therefore a double-bye. The loser will have a single-bye and will be the No. 5 seed.

Notre Dame is coming off of its biggest home win the season. The Irish dominated No. 5 Virginia Tech from start to finish on Thursday night. Hidalgo led the way with 23 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists, while Sonia Citron had 21 points. All of them were scored after halftime.

Turning to this weekend, there is a lot of familiarity between these two foes. When they met a few weeks ago, Notre Dame fell behind by 11 points early and couldn’t quite crawl back. Hidalgo was the only Irish player in double-figures; she dropped 30 that night. Louisville, on the other hand, played a balanced game but was led by Nyla Harris. She had 19 points and 10 rebounds, going 9-11 from the floor.

Sunday’s game tips off on ESPN at 2 p.m. Pam Ward and Kelly Gramlich will be on the call. Notre Dame is 18-14 all-time against Louisville and 7-5 at home.
