HONOLULU, Hawai’i – The 19th-ranked University of Notre Dame women’s tennis team recorded its third-straight win, dispatching No. 59 Wyoming, 7-0, Thursday at the UH Tennis Complex. The Irish now sit at 12-4 on the season.

In doubles action, Britney Sanders (Ontario, Calif.) and Julie Sabacinski (Plantation, Fla.) as well Jennifer Kellner (Smithtown, N.Y.) and Chrissie McGaffigan (Davenport, Iowa) posted identical 8-4 wins at courts two and three, respectively, to clinch the point and early 1-0 lead. Sanders and Sabacinski defeated Jessica Parizher and Silviya Zhelyazkova, while Kellner and McGaffigan knocked off Sasa Nemcova and Alexandra Kovacs.

The lone loss in doubles came at the No. 1 court as the Irish pairing of Kristy Frilling (Sidney, Ohio) and Shannon Mathews (Birmingham, Mich.) lost a 9-8 (7-3) tiebreaker to the 61st-ranked pairing of Simona Synkova and Veronica Popovici.

Singles action saw the Irish navigate through with ease, claiming all six matches in straight-set fashion. Mathews, ranked 49th, disposed off Popovici at No. 1 singles (6-1, 6-2), while Frilling, ranked 84th, took down Synkova at the No. 2 court (6-3, 6-4).

In the middle of the Irish lineup, Kellner defeated Kovacs at No. 3 (6-3, 6-1) and Sanders won over Nemcova at No. 4 (7-5, 6-1). McGaffigan earned a 6-4, 6-2 win over Parizher at No. 5 singles and Sabacinski completed the Irish sweep with a 6-1, 6-2 triumph over Zhelyazkova at No. 6. It is the fifth match on the season in which the Irish have posted a perfect 7-0 victory.

Notre Dame now returns to the mainland as it heads to Ann Arbor, Mich., for a showdown with rival Michigan on March 21. First serve for the match is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. (ET).
