NOTRE DAME, Ind. — Senior guard Antoni Wyche scored a game-high 25 points to lead five Notre Dame players in double figures as the Irish posted a 105-93 exhibition win over Team Fokus on Sunday night. The contest concluded Notre Dame’s exhibition season as the Irish open the regular season on Friday with a 7:30 p.m. EST game against Miami of Ohio.
Freshman forward David Graves came off the bench to score 16 points, including a four-for-four effort from three-point field goal distance, while senior center Phil Hickey, sophomore gaurd Martin Ingelsby and junior guard Jimmy Dillon each added 10 points. Hickey had a double-double in the game with a game-high 10 rebounds.
Team Fokus, a group of touring former college players, had five players in double figueres as Justice Thigpen led the way with 19 points.
Team Fokus had a 47-41 lead at halftime and led most of the first stanza, opening up a first-half high lead of nine points twice.
The Irish tied the game in the second half for the first time at 58-58 on a driving layup by freshman forward Harold Swanagan and took the lead for good with 12:16 left to play on a layup by sophomore forward Hans Rasmussen from senior forward Dennis Carroll.
Notre Dame then scored 14 of the next 19 points in the contest to take an 85-74 lead with 5:23 left to play and Team Fokus never threatened again.
