NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The women’s golf season will continue at the University of Colorado’s Heather Farr Memorial tournament on Monday, September 29. The two-day event will take place at the Omni Interlocken Golf Club in Broomfield, Colo. The par-72 course measures 6,211 yards in length. The 19 participating teams will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday. Both days will begin with 8:30 a.m. (MST) tee times.
FORMAT: Each team’s lineup will be comprised of five golfers with the lowest four scores for each round counting towards the overall team score. The tournament will consist of 54 holes of play. Both days will feature shotgun starts.
FIELD: A field of 19 teams will take to the Omni Interlocken Golf Club. In addition to Notre Dame, the teams participating are Colorado, Colorado State, San Diego State, Nevada Reno, Fresno, Gonzaga, Georgia State, Wyoming, Weber State, Portland State, UC Davis, Montana State, Idaho, Boise State, Cal State Long Beach, Texas Tech, Hawaii and Northern Colorado.
NOTRE DAME LINEUP: The five players comprising the Irish lineup include senior captain Lisa Maunu (St. Thomas, Ontario/Parkside Collegiate Institute), junior Annie Brophy (Spokane, Wash./Gonzaga Prep), sophomores Katie Conway (Wading River, N.Y.) and So-Hyun Park (Seoul, South Korea/Bradenton Prep), as well as freshman Becca Huffer (Denver, Colo./Littleton HS).
LAST TIME OUT: The Irish concluded play at the Mary Fossum Invitational in East Lansing, Michigan on September 21. Notre Dame shot an 893 (310-288-295) to finish in third place. Becca Huffer led the Irish, shooting a plus-eight 224, good for a 10th place finish.

IRISH BIRDIES: The most recent Golf World/NGCA poll (released on September 25) has the Irish in the Receiving Votes category (41) … The Heather Farr Memorial will mark Notre Dame’s first tournament played in the state of Colorado … freshman Becca Huffer returns to her home state of Colorado for the Heather Farr Memorial, where she captured the 2008 state championship by a record 13-strokes … Lisa Maunu is the only Irish golfer to have all of her six rounds count towards team scoring this season … In the second round of the Mary Fossum Invitational, So-Hyun Park shot a minus-four 68, the second lowest round in women’s golf history at Notre Dame, a feat that was equaled by Karen Lotta ’05, and bested only by Maunu in the first round of last year’s Cougar Classic, when she carded a 66 … Maunu leads the Irish in stroke average, checking in with a 73.17 mark … Golf World has listed sophomore All-American So-Hyun Park as one of the top-50 female players to watch this season … Golfweek has listed Becca Huffer as a Notable Newcomer for the 2008-09 season … www.golfdigest.com has tabbed Becca Huffer as the preseason choice for BIG EAST Rookie of the Year honors.

NEXT UP: Notre Dame will travel to West Lafayette, Indiana to take part in the Lady Northern, hosted by Purdue University. The tournament will take place on October 18 & 19 at the Kampen Golf Club.
