SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) – Troy Murphy had 24 points and 17 rebounds as Notre Dame beat the California Midwest All-Stars 98-68 in an exhibition game Wednesday night.
David Graves added 18 points to help give Mike Brey a victory in his first game as Notre Dame’s head coach. Brey, 99-52 in five seasons at Delaware, took the job after Matt Doherty left the Irish to coach North Carolina.
Harold Swanagan and Ryan Humphrey had 14 points each for Notre Dame, which scored the first 16 points of the game and led by as many as 37 points twice in the second half.
Roberto Bergeson had 20 points for the All-Stars.
