MUNCIE, Ind. – A late start to the first round prevented the field from completing all 36 scheduled holes Monday at the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational hosted by Ball State University at the Delaware Country Club.

The tournament was delayed for nearly two hours due to debris that remained on the course from inclement weather in the Muncie area Sunday. All players were still on the course when play was suspended at 7 p.m. (ET), and will resume their second rounds Tuesday morning before playing the tournament’s final round in the afternoon.

University of Notre Dame sophomore Patrick Grahek (Alpharetta, Ga.) set the pace for the Fighting Irish in the first round, carding a three-over par 73 to earn a share of 14th place. Sophomore Tyler Wingo (Fairfax, Va.) closed with a back nine 36 to fire a 74 (+4) that left him in a tie for 19th place.

Nick Huggins of Northern Illinois logged a three-under par 67 to take the official overnight lead by two strokes over Bowling Green’s Joe Cooper and Ball State’s Tyler Ostrom (69). Indiana’s Max Kollin, Ball State’s Tyler Merkel and IUPUI’s Jordan Lenard rounded out the top-five after shooting even-par rounds of 70.

Round two of the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational is tentatively scheduled to resume at 9:30 a.m. (ET) Tuesday, with the third and final round to immediately follow. Stay tuned to und.com for full tournament results.
