- Tonight marked the first meeting all-time between Notre Dame and Gonzaga.
- Seniors Tyrone Nash (F), Tim Abromaitis (F), Carleton Scott (F), Ben Hansbrough (G) and Scott Martin (G) started tonight’s contest. It marked the ninth time (out of 10 games) this season that quintet has started.
- Senior forward Tyrone Nash extended his consecutive games played streak to a team-best 60 contests. Nash and senior guard Ben Hansbrough both have started 45 straight contests, which is a team-high total.
- Senior forward Carleton Scott scored a career-high 23 points. His previous high was 17 on two occasions, including earlier this season against Chicago State (Nov. 17). Scott matched a career-high total with three (3-5) made three-pointers. He has hit three treys four times during his career. Scott’s eight made free throws (8-9) were a career-high total. His previous high was six earlier this season versus California (Nov. 26).
- With his team-high 23 points on Saturday, Carleton Scott now has scored in double figures in the past eight games, which is the longest double-digit scoring streak for the Irish this season. It also is a career-best streak for Scott. He has reached double-digits 12 times in his career.
- Carleton Scott (23 pts.) became the third Irish player to score 20-plus points in a game this season. Tim Abromaitis and Ben Hansbrough are the others.
- Carleton Scott’s three-pointer just over a minute into the contest extended Notre Dame’s streak to 384 straight games with a made three-pointer. The Fighting Irish have made at least one three-pointer during every game of the Mike Brey era.
- With his 21 points, Tim Abromaitis reached double-figures in points for the eighth time this season and 36th time in his career. He has scored 20-plus points four times this season and 12 times in his career. Abromaitis matched a season-high total with four made three-pointers. He has hit four treys three times this season.
- Senior guard Ben Hansbrough (13 points) has scored in double-figures a team-best nine times this season.
- Freshman point guard Eric Atkins matched a career-high total with 12 points. It was the third time that he’s netted 12 points in a game. He has scored in double-figures four times this season. Atkins also hauled down a career-high seven rebounds.
- Notre Dame went 11-20 from three-point range. That marked the fourth time this season the Irish have hit 10-plus treys in a game.
- Notre Dame had 19 assists on 24 made baskets. The Irish only had eight turnovers.
- Notre Dame is off to a 9-1 start for the second straight season.
- The Irish eclipsed the 80-point mark for the sixth time this season. Notre Dame’s 43 first-half points marked the sixth time this season the Irish have netted 40-plus points in the first half of play.
