NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame women’s swimming team returns to Rolfs Aquatic Center at 5 p.m. this Friday for a dual meet with the Purdue Boilermakers. The meet is a joint meet, as the Irish men face off against the Purdue men.

The No. 18/22 Irish (0-1) are coming off an impressive showing at No. 5/8 Auburn last weekend where the Irish won seven individual events, including both diving competitions, but couldn’t keep up with Auburn’s depth as the Tigers pulled away for the 166-132 win. Picking up wins for the Irish were Suzanne Bessire (200 free), Kim Holden (100 back, 100 fly), Jenny Chiang (3-meter dive), Emma Reaney (200 IM, 200 breast) and Allison Casareto (1-meter dive).

No. 19/24 Purdue (1-0) is coming off a first place finish out of five teams at the Indiana Intercollegiate. The Boilermakers easily cruised past Ball State, IUPUI, University of Indianapolis, Rose-Hulman Institute and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, pouring in 807.5 points, while second place Ball State had just 433. In dual action to open the year the Boilermakers breezed past Miami (OH), 179-109.

For fans not able to make the meet, live results will be available online and through mobile devices. A link will be provided on UND.com.
