Rob Kurz and the Irish have won seven straight and are off to their best start since the 2002-03 campaign.

Rob Kurz Named To BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Notre Dame, Ind. – For the second time this season and third time in his career, Rob Kurz (Lower Gwynedd, Pa.) has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.

He earns the honor after scoring 16 points and grabbing 12 rebounds in Notre Dameââ,¬TMs 94-63 victory over Elon. In addition, the junior forward dished off a career-high seven assists and made a season-high four blocks.

Kurzââ,¬TM double-double was his fourth of the season and his second in has many games. He is the Irishââ,¬TMs second leading scorer at 15.3 points per game and leading the team with 8.9 rebounds. Kurz has started all nine games and is third in minutes played (28.4).

Demetris Nichols of Syracuse was named the leagueââ,¬TMs player of the week, while Connecticut freshman Jerome Dyson copped rookie-of-the-week honors.

Joining Kurz on the Honor Roll were: John Williamson (Cincinnati), Sammy Mejia (DePaul), Kentrell Gransberry (USF) and Joe Alexander (West Virginia).

Notre Dame currently is 8-1 on the season and ranked 20th in the recent Associated Press ranking.
