AS A SENIOR: Team tri-captain … played in seven tournaments, including five as member of travel squad … charted 75.95 season stroke average in 20 competitive rounds … part of starting lineup for first three fall tournaments … tied for 37th in season-opening Gopher Invitational at 15-over par 231 (75-80-76) … shared 52nd place at Fighting Irish Gridiron Golf Classic after carding 19-over par 229 (76-74-79) … tied for 80th place at Coca-Cola Duke Classic (77-79-77=233, +17) … made spring debut at Charleston Southern Spring Kickoff (“B” team event) and placed ninth at seven-over par 220 (72-75-73) … returned to travel squad for National Invitational Tournament, where he ended up 71st (77-75-80=232, +16) … won first college title at Irish Invitational, tying for medalist honors at one-under par 139 (71-68) … made first career BIG EAST Championship appearance and finished in 49th place at 19-over par 235 (80-73-82).

AS A SOPHOMORE: Participated in final tournament of fall season at CordeValle Collegiate … led all Irish players at the event with a 34th-place tie at four-over par 220 (74-70-76); the second-round 70 tied his (then) personal best, while the 220 was his lowest mark as a member of the travel squad … team did not score in event after two players disqualified in opening round (thus no rounds counted to team score) … did not appear in any spring tournaments.

SUMMER 2005: Qualified for U.S. Amateur with fifth-place finish (140, -4) in sectional qualifier at Old Chatham Golf Club in Durham, N.C. … missed cut at U.S. Amateur after two-round score of 19-over par 159 (80-79) … put together stirring performance at famed North and South Amateur in his hometown of Pinehurst, N.C., advancing to semifinals with four consecutive match play wins, including three over top-11 seeds … needed a playoff to advance out of stroke play and was seeded 59th in the 64-man field, but charged through the match play tree, eliminating sixth-seeded Scott Anderson, 6 & 5 in the opening round, followed by 38th-seeded Andrew Lanahan (20 holes), No. 11 seed Dan Walters (2 & 1) and third-seeded Dane Burkhart (20 holes) … ousted by eventual champion Sean Moore, 3 & 1 in the semifinals … finished 17th in Florida State Amateur Championship at Bear Lakes Country Club in West Palm Beach, Fla. … shot a nine-over par 297 (72-71-73-81) and was tied for seventh place (four shots out of second) at even-par for tournament before final-round struggle … tied for 70th place in Southern Amateur at Dunes Golf & Beach Club in North Myrtle Beach, S.C.; carded an 18-over par 298 (70-73-78-77) … tied for 65th place in the Rice Planters Amateur at Snee Farm Country Club in Mount Pleasant, S.C., with seven-over par 223 (73-76-74).

AS A FRESHMAN: Competed in five tournaments in his initial season with the Irish, four as an individual participant … carded a 75.36 stroke average … debuted at the John Dallio Memorial, tying teammate Adam Gifford for 17th place with a six-over par 222 (74-73-75) … came back with a tie for seventh place at the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational, one of three Irish players in top 10, after he fired a career-low five-over par 215 (72-73-70); final-round 70 was his lowest mark of the season … made most of first tournament with travel squad, tying for 19th place at spring opener at NOKIA Sugar Bowl Tulane Invitational; carded a 10-over par 226 (76-74-76) and came up with clutch birdie during first hole of sudden death team playoff to help give Notre Dame the win … participated as individual at Irish Invitational, sharing 56th place with a 28-over par 244 (77-83-84) … saw action in dual match with 11th-ranked TCU, coming in 11th place at eight-over par 148 (74-74) while playing as an individual competitor.
