AS A SOPHOMORE: Competed in the first two meets of the Irish season … placed fifth on the team and ninth overall at the Valparaiso Invitational … won the National Catholic Championship JV race in a time of 26:16 … saw his first action on the indoor track … top performances were his 8:42.12 3,000-meter run at the Notre Dame Opener and 15:10.93 5,000 meters at the Meyo Invitational … did not compete during the 2007 outdoor track season.
AS A FRESHMAN: Ran in one cross country meet for the Irish … took 26th overall at the National Catholic Championship, covering the Notre Dame home course in 26:09 … did not compete during the indoor track season … had a successful outdoor campaign, highlighted by BIG EAST-caliber performances in both the 5,000 and 10,000 meters … best effort in the 5,000 meters came at the Hillsdale Gina Relays where he ran 14:55.88 … saw his first action in BIG EAST competition at the outdoor league meet, running the 10,000 meters in 32:36.53 for 15th place.
HIGH SCHOOL AND PERSONAL: Attended same high school (Benet Academy) as current Irish teammate Mike Schubert … enrolled in the College of Arts and Letters where he is studying theology … garnered Dean[apos]s List status in his first semester at Notre Dame, posting a 3.8 semester grade-point average.
