Final Results

OPELIKA, Ala. – Junior Matthew Rushton shot an even-par 72 on the final day of play at the Tiger Invitational at the Grand National Lake Course (7,149-yards) to place 11th in the three-day event, which was hosted by Auburn University and presented by Jason Dufner.
Rushton, who had three birdies and three bogeys on Tuesday to go along with 12 pars, finished at one-over par (74-71-72-217) for the tournament.
As a team, the Irish carded their best round of the tournament (205) to finish 15th at 41-over par (906).
Freshman Ben Albin turned in Notre Dame’s best score of the final round by shooting a two-under par 70. He finished tied for 38th at nine-over par (75-80-70-225).
Junior Blake Barens and freshman Miguel Delgado also scored for the Irish on Tuesday. Barens shot a final round 76 (78-75-76-229), while Delgado shot a 77 (79-77-77-235).
Freshman Kevin Conners shot a final round 80 (83-83-80-246).
Troy (862) edged Auburn (865) for the team title, while UNCG teammates Taylor Coalson and Jake McGlone tied for medalist honors at three-under par (213). The scoring average for the tournament was 75.72 (288 rounds).
Notre Dame will continue its spring break swing by playing in the Border Olympics at the Laredo Country Club in Laredo, Texas on March 11-12.

Dan Colleran, associate athletics communications director at the University of Notre Dame, has been a part of Fighting Irish Media since August 2015 and coordinates all media and publicity efforts surrounding the Notre Dame hockey and men’s golf programs. A native of Walpole, Massachusetts, Colleran spent the previous three years working with the men’s hockey and soccer programs at Providence College.
