Schmidt Sets School Record as Irish Open 2025

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Notre Dame indoor track and field team kicked off 2025 at the Hoosier Horsepower Classic on Saturday at Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion.

Madison Schmidt had a big day for the Irish as the graduate student established a new personal-best and school record in the high jump with a 1.84m mark while placing third in the event.

Jadin O’Brien won the long jump with a 6.22m effort, and Alaina Brady placed second in the 60m hurdles with an 8.40 time.
Dimitri Nicholson had a strong day on the men’s side as he took first place in the 60m with a 6.84 and third in the 200m in a time of 21.71. William Doyle added a second place finish in the 600m with a 1:20.53 on the day.
The Irish are back in action on January 25 when they host the Notre Dame Invitational.
