SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Notre Dame men’s basketball team landed six student-athletes on the ACC All-Academic Team list, which was announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon. The six Irish tie the program record set in the 2022-23 season for most ACC All-Academic team members. The six who took home the honor were:
- Matt Allocco
- Logan Imes
- Nikita Konstantynovskyi
- Kebba Njie
- Garrett Sundra
- Braeden Shrewsberry
To make the ACC All-Academic Team, one must achieve the following criteria:
- Have a minimum 3.0 GPA for their career as well as a minimum 3.0 GPA during the most recently completed semester.
- Graduate students must have an undergraduate and graduate career minimum GPA of 3.0 as well as a minimum 3.0 GPA during the most recently completed semester.
- Must compete in 50 percent of the team’s scheduled games.
Matt Allocco played in 26 games and averaged 9.5 ppg on 46.1 percent shooting. His 3.5 assist-to-turnover ratio was the highest in program history for a single season. He shot a career best 46.5 percent from three, which ranked him third all-time for a single season. Lastly, he led the team in defensive rebounds per game at 4.1.
Logan Imes played in 26 games. He shot 46.4 percent from two-point range. His standout game of the year was his career high 11 point-performance against Le Moyne.
Nikita Konstantynovskyi appeared in 29 games and converted 39-54 from the field aka 72.2 percent. The graduate came on strong down the final stretch nearly producing double-doubles in each ACC Tournament game where he averaged 9.0 points and 9.0 rebounds. His standout game was a 17-rebound performance in the 4OT thriller over Cal.
Kebba Njie averaged 6.1 points and a team best 5.9 rebounds over 31 games. The junior shot a career best 55.5 percent from the floor and found a groove late, when he was 70.6 percent from two over the last five regular season games.
Garrett Sundra saw action in 21 games, averaging 9.3 minutes of the bench. He converted 72.7 percent from two and was 8-20 (.400) from three. One of Sundra’s best games of the season was when he drained a career best three triples against Creighton to finish with a career high 11 points.
Braeden Shrewsberry’s season was cut a little short due to injury, but he had started in the first 26 games of the season. The sophomore upped his numbers in several categories, averaging 14.0 ppg on 41.3 percent shooting. He averaged 2.9 made threes per game in ACC play, knocking down 40.0 percent from deep. Shrewsberry recorded four games of 20+ points, including a season best 25 against Syracuse.
