AS A SOPHOMORE (2024-25)
- Played in 30 games for the Irish.
- Scored his first career goal against Alaska (Oct. 18).
- After posting just one point as a rookie, Nelson finished his sophomore season with eight points off three goals and five assists.
- Finished third on the team for blocked shots with 40.
- Recorded one game-winning goal on the season with his first collegiate goal against Alaska.
- Also tallied an assist in the Alaska game to post his first career multi-point night.
- Assisted on two goals in the 6-1 win over Wisconsin (Feb. 22) for his first multi-assist game.
AS A FRESHMAN (2023-2024)
- Skated in 31 of 36 games for the Irish in his freshman season.
- Blocked 15 shots on the season.
- Recorded his first collegiate point with an assist in the 5-2 road victory at Ohio State (Jan. 13).
IN THE USHL
- Spent three seasons with Lincoln Stars, appearing in 102 games
- Recorded five goals and 22 assists with the Stars
- In final season with the Stars, recorded a plus-five on ice rating
PREP & PERSONAL
- Native of Maple Grove, Minnesota
- Graduated from Maple Grove High School in 2021
- Won state golf championship at Maple Grove
- Son of Barb and Victor Nelson
- Has two siblings, Danny and Sammy
- Brother Danny also plays hockey at Notre Dame
