- Lettered in football and lacrosse at De La Salle High School in Concord, California
- Captained lacrosse team during his senior season, earning all-league honors
- De La Salle Athlete of the Year nominee in 2015
- Led Spartans to 2014 North Coast Sectional Championship
- Claimed East Bay Athletic League championship in 2013
- Named scholar-athlete all four years in lacrosse
- Played club lacrosse for Alcatraz Outlaws in 2012-13 and 3D Select Northern California in 2012
- Played FLG Lacrosse All-Star in 2012 and Maverik Showtime All-Star in 2013
- Helped De La Salle win California state championship in football in 2014
- Son of Tom and Christine Olinger
- Has two siblings–Christopher and Mary Grace
- Cousin Ken Dilger played tight end in for NFL Indianapolis Colts and Tampa Bay Buccaneers after playing collegiately at Illinois
- Enrolled in the College of Arts and Letters and is double majoring in economics and pre-health studies
