As a Freshman: At the Ohio State Invitational, registered his best times of the season in the 50 Free (21.58), 100 Fly (50.34), and 200 Fly (1:55.01) … in Notre Dame[apos]s dual meet with Michigan State, shot through the 100 Free in 47.86 … part of the quartet that won the 200 Medley Relay at Oakland.

The Toomey File: Registered a 2008 Olympic trial cut in the 100M Fly with a time of 55.58 … also the Pennsylvania high school state champion in that event … top yard time in the 100 Fly was 48.80, the best among incoming Fighting Irish swimmers entering his freshman season … had a mark of 1:52.28 in the 200 Fly along with a top 50 Free time of 21.25 and a 100 Free time of 46.15 … full name Raymond Q. Toomey … born June 16, 1988 in Pittsburgh, Pa. … son of Mary Ellen and Gregory Toomey.
