AS A SENIOR: Competed in numerous events his senior year, primarily the 100 and 200 breast … finished fifth in solo 50 free race (22.22) against Air Force … was 16th in 100 breast at Hawkeye Invitational meet (57.13) after setting new personal record in the prelim race (56.80) … finished in 1:00.53 in 100 breast at tri-meet with Northwestern and Michigan … was seventh in 100 breast against Wisconsin (1:01.57) … at Shamrock Invite, touched the wall in 2:02.74 in 200 breast beating his own personal best time … won same race a week later against Cleveland State (2:06.65) … swam the 100 fly on a few occasions, finishing 16th at Hawkeye Invitational (50.15) while setting new personal record in the event.

AS A JUNIOR: Swam in the Shamrock Invitational, earning two fifth-place finishes after completing the 200 medley relay in 1:37.03 and the 400 free relay in 3:12.53… picked up a pair of seventh-place finishes against Cleveland State as he touched the pad in the 100 free in 48.88 and the 100 breast in 1:02.30 … also finished seventh in the 200 IM (2:01.34) … saw action against Pittsburgh where he recorded a fifth-place finish in the 400 free relay (3:14.77) and was the third swimmer to the wall in the 200 breast (2:09.12) … BIG EAST Academic All-Star … monogram winner.

AS A SOPHOMORE: Specialized in the breaststroke and individual medley disciplines in his second year with the Irish … recorded season-best times in the 100 breast (58.74) and the 200 IM (1:53.23) at the Hawkeye Invitational … top 200 breast time of the season (2:04.79) came at the Shamrock Invitational … touched the wall at 4:13.32 to record his best time of the year in the 200 breast against Louisville … competed for the Irish in dual meets against Northwestern, Louisville, Michigan State, and the quad meet against Michigan, Oakland, and TCU … monogram winner.

AS A FRESHMAN: Swam primarily the breaststroke and individual medley events during his first season with the Irish … set top season times in the 100 breast (58.11) and 200 breast (2:04.55) against league-foe Pittsburgh … touched the pad in 1:53.10 in the 200 IM and 4:01.52 in the 400 IM at the Hawkeye Invitational for top personal times … registered a 52.55 in the Shamrock Invitation in the 100 fly for another top season time.

PREP AND PERSONAL: Earned three conference titles with Vista del Lago High School (Calif.) … team captain and MVP as a junior … three-time all-conference choice … named all-city as a senior … earned All-American honors in the 100 breast and 200 individual medley as a junior and senior … set Sierra Valley Conference records in the 100 breast and 200 individual medley … school record holder in the 100 fly, 100 breast, 50 free and 200 individual medley … member of high school[apos]s orchestra and church youth group … son of Susan and Gerald Choi … graduated from the University in May 2014 as a pre-professional science major.
