Carter Sorenson Track and Field Roster

AS A FRESHMAN:

• Was the lone heptathlete for the Irish during the indoor season, recording a season best 4,797 points at the ACC Indoor Championship. 

PREP AND PERSONAL:

• Graduated from Ravenwood High School in April of 2016.
• Received two varsity letters in cross country and four in track and field.
• Was a member of Kindersport club team and was a youth national champion in the decathlon in 2015.
• Led his high school team to track and field runner-up at the state meet in 2015.
• Named second team all-state in the 4×4 in 2014, finishing in fourth place at the state championship as a sophomore.
• Finished in second place in the state championship decathlon, ninth in the 400m and fifth in the 4×4 as a junior.
• Finished in seventh place in shotput at the state championship his senior year.
• Set PRs of 6350 in the decathlon, 11.45 in the 100m, 49.7 in the 400m, 4:31 in the 1,500m, 16.2 in the 110H, 22 feet in the long jump, six feet in the high jump, 12 feet in the pole vault, 46 feet, five inches in the shotput, and 115 feet in the discus.
• Father, Sean, played football at the Air Force Academy.
• Full name is Carter Cameron Sorenson.
• Born in Fayetteville, North Carolina, to Sean and Kathy Sorenson.
• Has one sister, Claire.
• Intends to major in chemical engineering.
