Bio

AWARDS/ACCOLADES:

  • 2016 ACC Academic Honor Roll.
  • 2013 All-New England Honors (4x800m relay).

AS A GRADUATE STUDENT:

  • Competed in the mile where he recorded a season best time of 4:21.17 at the Black & Gold Premier (indoor).

AS A SENIOR: 

  • Did not compete in cross country or track.
  • Transferred in fourth year to Notre Dame from Stonehill College.

AS A JUNIOR (Stonehill College): 

  • Led Stonehill’s distance medley relay to a third place finish at the Division 2 NCAA Indoor Championships (split 2:59.2 in the 1200m).
  • Champion in the 1000m run at the NE-10 Indoor Championships (2:28.32).
  • Anchored second place 4x800m relay with a time of 7:33.66 (split 1:52.8).

AS A SOPHOMORE (Stonehill College): 

  • Split a season-best 3:01.3 in the 1200m for the Skyhawks to qualify for NCAA’s at the 2014 Valentine Invite.
  • Finished as runner-up in the 1000m run at the NE-10 Indoor Championships.

AS A FRESHMAN (Stonehill College): 

  • Finished third in the 800m run and was a member of the second place 4x800m relay helping to secure Stonehill’s first NE-10 Indoor Championship.
  • Finished outdoor track with a season-best 1:55.51 in the 800m run at the UMass Invitational.
  • Earned All-New England Honors as a member of the second place 4x800m relay running 7:34.77 (split 1:52.8).
  • Efforts helped secure Stonehill’s team runner-up finish at the New England Championships.

PREP AND PERSONAL: 

  • Graduated from Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School (Indianapolis, Ind.) in May 2012.
  • 3 time IATCCC Track State Champion (4x800m, 4x400m, DMR).
  • 2010 IATCCC Cross Country All-State second team and 2011 IATCCC All-State Honorable Mention.
  • Son of Susan and Robert Kirkpatrick.
  • Three siblings: Robert, Kelsey, and Kaitlin.
  • Enrolled as a transfer in the 3+2 Dual Degree Engineering program from Stonehill College, in which a student completes three years to receive a liberal arts degree and then two years at Notre Dame to receive an engineering degree.
  • Majoring in computer engineering.
