Two-time monogram winner for the Irish who will be one of the team[apos]s top midfielders in 2007 β¦ hard-working tenacious player who makes plays all over the field β¦ has continued to improve her all-around game in each season with the Irish β¦ team leader on and off the field β¦ plays a physical style and doesn[apos]t shy away from contact β¦ has outstanding work habits and leads the team by example β¦ has become one of Notre Dame[apos]s top players on the draw β¦ was second on the squad with 41 draws controls in 2006 β¦ key member of the team[apos]s transition game β¦ uses her speed and quickness to jump start the attack β¦ played a key role in team[apos]s success in 2006 as the Irish advanced to the NCAA semifinals β¦ has seen action in 36 games over her first three seasons, starting 33 of them β¦ has 26 goals and seven assists for 33 career points β¦ has 57 ground balls, 59 draw controls and 16 caused turnovers for her career.
AS A JUNIOR: Played in all 19 games in her second season as a starter at midfield, making 18 starts β¦ turned in career highs in goals (15), assists (6), points (21), draw controls (41) and caused turnovers (9) β¦ was seventh in scoring while converting on 15-of-37 shots for a .405 shooting percentage β¦ had six games with two or more points and five games with two or more goals β¦ had eight games with three or more draw controls β¦ opened the season with two goals in win at California β¦ recorded four points (2g, 2a) in 20-4 win versus Lehigh β¦ followed with a pair of goals in 12-11 cliffhander with James Madison β¦ scored game-winning goal in 13-9 win over Loyola in Wellington, Fla. on March 16 β¦ had career highs in goals (4) and points (5) in 18-2 win against Canisius β¦ picked up a goal and an assist in 13-9 win versus UConn β¦ went scoreless for two games before scoring once in loss at Georgetown β¦ held off the scoresheet in 12-11 regular-season finale versus Vanderbilt but had a career-best nine draw controls with two ground balls and two caused turnovers β¦ had two goals in NCAA win versus Cornell with six draw controls.
AS A SOPHOMORE: Broke into the lineup in the fall and never looked back, as she started all 15 games for the Irish β¦ scored 11 goals on 28 shots (.393 shooting percentage) β¦ finished third on the team in ground balls (32) and draw controls (18) β¦ had seven caused turnovers β¦ had three two-goal games on the year β¦ had nine games with two or more ground balls and six games with two or more draw controls β¦ scored first collegiate goal (first of two in the game) in 18-11 loss to Northwestern β¦ followed with two goals in an 11-8 loss to Cornell β¦ had one goal versus James Madison and racked up third two-goal game of the year in 18-8 home win versus California β¦ had two points (1g, 1a) in loss to Connecticut β¦ put together a three-game goal streak with single goals versus Duke, Stanford and Georgetown β¦ picked up a career-high five ground balls at Boston College β¦ recorded a season-best four draw controls versus Rutgers.
AS A FRESHMAN: Saw action in games versus Boston College and at Ohio State in her rookie season.
PREP AND PERSONAL: Three-sport standout at Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, Conn. β¦ lettered in soccer (2), hockey (3) and lacrosse (3) during her career β¦ helped hockey team to conference championship as a junior β¦ was named all-state and all-New England following junior season in hockey β¦ led team in assists in junior and senior years β¦ in lacrosse, led Choate Rosemary Hall in scoring in her final two years β¦ was team MVP as a junior and senior β¦ selected all-New England and all-state as a senior β¦ honorable mention All-America following junior year β¦ full name is Katherine McKenna Orr β¦ daughter of Bruce and Susan Orr β¦ has three younger brothers β¦ born March 29, 1985, in Houston, Texas β¦ double major in English and peace studies in the College of Arts and Letters.
