AS A SENIOR:
The 2020 season was shortened due to the COVID-19 global pandemic.
- Spence was one of eight ACC student-athletes to receive the Thacker Award, honoring those who plan to pursue professional careers in their chosen sports
- 2020 Weaver-James-Corrigan ACC Postgraduate Scholarship Award recipients, honoring those who performed with distinction in both the classroom and their respective sports, while demonstrating exemplary conduct in the community
- Earned a 9-8 mark in singles play this season, including 4-4 from the No. 1 spot in the lineup
- Won nine doubles matches with three different partners
AS A JUNIOR:
- Posted a 17-13 singles record on the year, playing primarily at the top of the singles lineup (9-11)
- Finished the season ranked No. 74 in the ITA’s singles rankings
- Defeated four nationally ranked singles opponents, including a pair of top-10 foes in Purdue’s Silvia Ambrosio (No. 9) and North Carolina’s Sara Daavettila (No. 6)
- Went 18-9 in doubles action, including a 10-6 mark during the spring
- Played most of the season with Cameron Corse, with the pair going 12-7 on the year and 6-4 at the top of the doubles lineup
- The duo was 6-4 in ACC play and secured one win over a nationally ranked opponent while winning their last three matches of the season
AS A SOPHOMORE:
- Anchored the middle of the lineup as a sophomore, going 15-8 in singles during the spring season
- Rattled off seven consecutive singles victories from Feb. 24-March 18, including wins at four singles against No. 36 Virginia Tech and No. 26 Virginia
- Saw singles action on courts two (1-0), three (8-6) and four (6-2)
- Went 8-9 with Cameron Course in doubles action, primarily on court two (6-7) with four appearances atop the doubles lineup (2-2)
AS A FRESHMAN:
- Finished the season with a 20-16 singles record
- Recorded her first win in her first singles match of her collegiate career over Zoe Douglas of Iowa, 6-2, 7-6(1)
- Won 11 straight singles matches from Nov. 4, 2016-Feb. 25, 2017
- Started the spring season with a 14-1 dual singles record.
- Defeated her first nationally ranked opponent on Feb. 3, 2017 — 78th ranked Chiara Lommer of No. 13 Michigan (7-5, 6-3)
- Competed alongside Allison Miller (0-2), Jane Fennelly (5-7), Rachel Chong (6-3) and Brooke Broda (1-0) in doubles competition
- Her first doubles win came against Montana Crawford and Taylor Tamblyn of Iowa (6-1) with partner Jane Fennelly
- Went 3-1 in doubles at the IU Fall Regional with partner Rachel Chong, Oct. 21-23, 2016
- Earned a monogram

- Graduated from Francis W. Parker High School (Chicago) in 2016
- Top 25 recruit nationally, according to Tennis Recruiting Network
- Made the 2015 USTA Honor Roll for top-performing American players
- Two-Time Nike Junior Tour Player –1 of 16 junior girls in the U.S.
- Won sportsmanship awards: 2014 U.S. National Clay Court Championships; 2012 U.S. National Hardcourt Championships; 2011 U.S. Winter National Championships
- Took Gold Balls at the 2010 and 2011 Winter National Championships (doubles) and Silver Ball at the USTA National Hardcourt Championships (doubles)
- Winner of the Bronze Ball at the 2014 National Spring Team Championships
- In 2016 was a quarterfinalist at the Inka Bowl (ITF Singles)
- 2015 ITF Singles Champion at Trinidad & Tobago and Copa Mundo Maya, ITF Doubles Champion at Tihta Aruba and Champion at Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Doubles
- 2014 team champion at Midwest Baird Cup
- Is the daughter of former Notre Dame cornerback Marvin Spence (’87, ’88) and field hockey captain Benét DeBerry-Spence (’88)
